As I study for Perceptual motor development and PE/Health for emelentary teachers, I have to congratulate the genius teacher who came up with the game silent speed ball --which is where the kids silently throw the ball around the classroom. If you talk, you're out. If you drop the ball or hit something, you're out. I mean, talk about keeping kids quite and entertained on a rainy day!!! I loved that game, but now that i look back at it, I was silently throwing a ball! LOL. some teacher must have gotten a kick out of how amused kids were with a game comparable to "who can be the quietist?"
HAHAHAHAHA LOL!!!! CRACK ME UP!!!!

i am so happy that i am here. although i will say that i have a TON of work to do. being an early childhood major is not necessarily hard, but it is incredibly time consuming. anyways. i have a meet in oklahoma this saturday, so we are leaving friday for it.
i am making a very fun homonym game tonight and tomorrow. i hope i will be a fun teacher. =)i am excited.
even if my practicum is at 8:15 in the morning, my kids are really sweet. i walsy thought 5th grade was too big, but now they are growing on me. I am taking a field trip tomorrow too. mt day care administration class is visiting a daycare down the street. i also went to an international reading assotiaion meeting last week. i am really starting to feel like a teacher! =)
please keep the pitchfords in your prayers. they still cannot return home (Beaumont, TX) becasue of the hurrucaine damange. mmmm. it is sad, but we are happy because all the damange done to their home is fixable.

|it'a been a long time
i haven't updated my journal in a long time, but of cpurse all with good reason. I have been very busy attempting to balance my time between tests, homework, social life, spritiaul life. but i got a voicemail from andy today and had to read about his past week, and decided to update mine.
last night was spring fling. and no the boys never did answer us. we went to zios (a nice italian place here) and then showed up about 40 minutes late. its ok. as long as you are with fun people, it really doesn't matter what you are doing or when you get there.
Courtney was in a cute dance for once scene and it was good.
And for those who do not know spring fling let me explain.
the girl asks the guy creatively. ( like you, we made a puzzle and had the boys put it together, but it didn't have words on it, just pictures )
the guy responds creativly.
you dress to the theme (80's, "Saturday night fever) This year's was "Roll out the Red Carpet"
mmmm. lets not get into how long it took me to get an out fit.
Then you go to the thing and have your blanket spread out. you and you date sit on it and watch several bands, skits, made up movie clips, etc.
For Andrew only, I would like to share 1 movie clip:
On the Screen flashed up, "THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS" with a flag behind it."
[Now, allow me to inform you, we have 2 professors here, DR. Berg in the Biblical Studies Department, and Coach Ghetty in the Physical Education department.]
THe second thing on the screen is coach Ghetty. SAying something like (i'm not exact):
"1458 Freemont Avenue. Springfield Missouri, 65802
The third thing we saw on the screen was Dr Berg saying something like:
"579 CHerry St. Spring field Missouiri, 65804"
Then the origional Screen, "THE GHETTYSBERG ADRESS" with a flag Pops up
after spring fling Justin and I went to Joradn Valley Park and walked around. it was a pretty night
THis morning we had "BEDSIDE ASSEMBLY OF GOD"
Now this is a joke is you are AG
because there are a ton of AG churches in Springfield MO, and if you go to the cafe for sunday lunch, a common question is "WHere did you go to church this morning?"
Well, if you didn't got to church, you say "BEdside Assembly of GOd"
And it is funny
Well today, we had a gues speaker come to out dorm, had breakfast in the Lobby while we listened to him, and ha a real bedside AG
then me & court went back to bed at 11 and didn't wake up again til almost 2.
WOW this was long
and just 2 days! Current Mood: grateful

|hmmm... not today
well well church was just a little ling this morning but that is ok since it was good.
can i make a comment?
do i need a boy friend?
i feel like everyone is trying to hook me up with someone, or o can't go a day without someone (including myself) commenting about the fact that i am single
perhaps i am just more aware of it now??
but the fact of the matter is.... I could care less. i mean really. i am 19. i'm happy. only the first of these two facts is subject to change, and why subject myself to possibly changing the latter?

|monday, the 24th
i did NOT want to get out of bed this morning.
but i did.
went down to breakfast, and yay, they had rasin bran. i went with courtney, and we came back and got ready for class. I already knew what i was wearing because i had picked it out the night before. today was the 1st day of my practicum.... so i was dressing up.
went to theology class.
my teacher wasn't there but his workstudy (i think) took up our assignment and gave us an in class discussion to be followed by a written response. felt like high school, but hey, it is always nice to have some variety in the day. so i did that and left.
10 min nap
did some french
went to french class. that was interesting but also confusing. i think i need a tutor. it is present participle or something, and infinitve, and something else. i don't know. if brandon nelson wasn;t in that class i would be bored and lost.
after class, i ran up to the joust and grabbed a wrap and spiced chai to-go, and walked to my car.
i drove to Headstart for my practicum and saw joe, katie, hope, and darren at a stop light.
got to practicum on time.
i found out that i need a TB test. i got one 1 1/2 year ago, but it needs to be within a year. i left a message for the school nurse, hopefully she will call back.
i love my practicum
the kids were sweet. as soon as i walked an and she introduced me they all started talking to me as if they knew me. they were like hey miss amy!
i loved it
read them some book, played with some bread dough and shaving cream. they follow a creative curriculum which means that the kids baically instigate what is learned and there are no sit down learning times. i think that is the methodist theory of childhood development, but i am not sure. i'm not crazy about it, but hey i role with the punches.
came back just in time for math class
i was starting to have a headache
after going over sets and sub sets and elements of a set for a long time, i finally got out of class.
came back here turned on dr phil. it was 3:15 and i was waiting for court to get out of class at 4. we were supposed to have track practice, but just then coach bowen called. he said his wife had physical thereapy for her shoulder today and we needed to run a distance run on our own. i tried to fall asleep. when court came back we laced up our shoes and headed to galloway trail for a long "spendy" run. we ran for a good hour came back
dinner was gross and i really wanst hungry.... just really cold.
i came back from dinner and started some laundry and some homework. but i just looked at my homework. this poor kid was spilled laundryt detergent all over me. i should go put my stuff in the dryer right now, but they are all full. anyways
i should be doing my homework but i really don't feel like it. i need some school motivation. yikes
we'll see how the night goes! Current Mood: blah

mmmm... today. let me think
can i just start out by saying that almost on a daily basis my emotions go through their full range?
i was exhausted. but i got up.
went down to breakfast and read some about bush's speech yesterday. doesn't look like the media was too pleased
anyways. got ready for class and was late... woo hoo... big surprise there. anyay.. it was theology class... and it seemed to go by as slow as ever.
finally it was time for chapel
we got out assigned seats today, and can I just say that I sit front and center. no i did not pick that spot; therefore, anytime i want to do homework or fall asleep, those will NOT be options. so sad
we had a vocab quiz and i missed like 2. but i got 1 extra credit. that class would be really boring if brandon wasn't in it.
just me and court
came back and tried to do art homwork, but that did not last long. by 1:00, i was sleeping. I woke up at 3:45 to dr. phil. he was talking about people with broken hearts and how they need to get over it. mmm. but it was good
ran 1 mile. we have a meet tomorrow
went and asked the boys if i could go eat dinner with them courtney had a hot date tonight, but we are going cowling when she gets back. after dinner i sat in the lobby and talked to ryan, cody, justin, and rodney for a long time....................
now i am here.
i'll update more later Current Mood: mellow
